The UG Block is a rugged, purpose-built standoff designed to help radiographers reduce geometric unsharpness (Ug) in compliance with a wide range of industry standards—including API/ASME, ISO 17636, AS 2177, and other relevant radiographic codes.
 
By increasing the source-to-object distance (SOD) without affecting the object-to-film distance (OFD), the UG Block improves image clarity and repeatability—without adding unnecessary complexity to your setup.
 
Each unit is manufactured from carbon fiber-reinforced nylon, selected for its durability in harsh site environments. The block features a rubber-lined insert at the guide tube interface, offering tolerance and grip for compatibility with a wider range of collimator profiles.
 
The UG Block provides a stable, repeatable mounting surface for your collimator—eliminating the need for improvised stands or supports and helping maintain consistent shot setups.
